| Records to launch his new single, “When I Rise.” Harrisburg, PA born Jay L is by no means new to the entertainment scene. Jay L has also graced the stage with some of the best R&B and Rap artists in the industry, including Master P, David Banner, Public Announcement, City High and Case. Previous signage under J-Pat Management allowed him to showcase for other great artists, such as, Usher. A huge favorite with the ladies, Jay L knows how to captivate his crowd and hold them hostage. This was evident at his two extraordinary performances at the famous Apollo Theater in New York where he won over tough Amateur Night audience with his melodic, sensual vocals. As his song, “She’s Wanting More” suggests, his performances always leave his audience wanting more. Jay L’s gifts are evident in more than just his music. He’s further pursued his acting career by appearing in the play, “Cousin Earl” with Charles Smith. Jay L has also performed in TV shows, including, Word of Mouth and The Cutting Edge. Along with “When I Rise”, his other single, “Catching of an Eye” will also be hitting Walden Books and Borders bookstores in January 2007 as a compliment to the new book, “Catching of an Eye” by Kimberly Gonzalez. Sheryl Underwood is one of the funniest and topical standup comics working on the road today. Sheryl can be seen as “Catfish Rita” in “Beauty Shop starring Queen Latifah. The New York Times called Sheryl a “…scene-stealing vendor…” and Entertainment Weekly said…”there are fun touches…like the soul food peddler (Sheryl Underwood) who keeps offering folks “monkey bread” followed by a nutty jungle screech.” As co-host of BET's talk show "Oh Drama!" Sheryl was an immediate hit. Black Entertainment Television recognized Sheryl's way with words and sharp appeal…called on her to host her own show "Hollah!” Always a member of the BET family, Sheryl was brought back to Comic View with her own segment:”Sheryl Speaks” and given one of the coveted performance spots on the BET Comedy Awards. From those appearances Oscar® winner Jamie Foxx selected Sheryl to appear with him on Showtime's Laffapollozza. Sheryl is radio-friendly in all formats: urban, country, rock and AC. Sheryl’s topical comedic style translates universally making her a favorite guest on top radio shows across the country. Sheryl commuted from Los Angeles to Dallas each week to host & produce her own morning drive time radio show “Sheryl Underwood & The Morning Misfits”. While in Dallas, Sheryl hosted and executive produced “Sheryl Underwood & Friends” a TV talk show on UPN21 which garnered a 2.5 rating. Sheryl's appeal is her down-to-earth nature, likable style, and an ability to use humor to drive home her point of view. Sheryl, with over 20 years of professional comedy experience and Masters Degree under her belt, brings adult conversation to the stage, discussing sex, politics, currents, and relationships. Sheryl dares to say what people want to say but don't…but she still is fun-loving Zeta Phi Beta Sorority girl…so you can relate to what she is saying. Sheryl's controversial opinions as a God-fearing, sexually progressive, staunch Republican, come across loud & clear during her on-stage performance, much to the enjoyment of her loyal and new fans. Sheryl headlines top comedy clubs across the country, including Caroline's On Broadway, the Improv & Funny Bone comedy club chains. Sheryl entered comedy competitions while serving in the USAF Reserve… she was the first woman finalist in the 1989 Miller Lite Comedy Search… the winner of the 1993 Old English Woman's Comedy Crunch. In 1994, Sheryl won the "Funniest Female Comedian on Comic View" award on BET …was named First Runner up in the 1995 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition-securing Sheryl a place in history as the highest ranking female comedian. In fact, Sheryl was the only comedian to place in the final round 3 years in a row. Sheryl was invited to Aspen as part of the US Comedy Arts Festival where she appeared on C-Span as a panelist for “Wag The Debate” and the Montreal Comedy Festival, where she performed for one sold out week of Nasty Shows with comedian Bobby Slayton. Popular in Canada, Sheryl toured with Lenny Clarke as part of the Nasty Tour and appeared on the Mike Bullard show, a Canadian nighttime talk show, ala Jay Leno. Sheryl appeared on ABC's "Politically Incorrect"… the "Late, Late Show" with Craig Kilborn…HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, BET’s Comic View…was a regular on Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd…popped up as a guest on the WB's sitcom "Nikki." … Film credits include Bulworth and Master P's I Got the Hook Up.
